Sounders U23 play two home games this week at Sunset Stadium in Sumner

With an outside chance of getting into playoff contention, the Sounders U23 team host the Portland Timbers U23 team on Tuesday, July 3rd then bring in the Victoria Highlanders on Friday, June 6th to finish the home schedule for the year.

The Sounders U23 have split the first two games with Portland with each team taking a win in the Cascadia rivalry.   The Portland Timbers U23 are 3-5-2 and the Sounders U23 are sitting at 3-4-3 in a very tight division race behind Calgary who has already secured the top NW Division spot in the playoffs.  With a US Open Cup birth and the possibility to make it in the back door to a 2nd place playoff seed on the line, the game will have the normal fight this Tuesday night.

The Victoria Highlanders have battled their way into the middle of the table late in the season and bolster a excellent central defender in Callum Montgomery.  Victoria sits at 4-7 just ahead of both the Sounders U23 and Portland U23 teams.

The Sounders U23 team have put more than 65 players into professional contracts over the past 5 years and will look to do the same following this summer’s crop of players.   With 4 current players regularly training with S2, the Sounders FC USL affiliate, and 2 more seeing time training with the Sounders FC first team, these players have worked hard this summer chasing the dream of professional soccer.   The team will look to finish strong with these two home games and two games next at TSS Rovers and Calgary Foothills.

Tickets can we purchased at www.soundersu23.com or at the gate on game day.  Come check out the #RELOADED future professionals!
